OUR STORY
Southpaw Brewing began in 2016 with a love of bold, hop-forward beers discovered on travels abroad. Our first release, Uncle Charlie APA, quickly found fans in Christchurch. Since then, we’ve grown a loyal following with a tight core range, seasonal brews, and a commitment to flavour.

We brew fresh, hop-forward beers with a focus on balance, drinkability, and quality. Our small size means we stay hands-on, creative, and connected to our community. Whether it’s a core beer or a one-off, we make beer we love to drink—bold, approachable, and brewed with care.
Most Famous Style?
We’re known for our hop-forward American-style pale ales and IPAs—especially Uncle Charlie APA and Riding Pine Red IPA. Bold hops, clean finishes, and big flavour are what we do best.
