OUR STORY
With the sad closing of the Funk Estate taproom in Wellington during the pandemic, a few beer loving like minded individuals sought to keep the site open and run the venue as a specialist beer fillery and off lience for regional and local breweries alike. Fast forward to 2024 we're now a smaller team of three and are fully operational as an On as well as Off premise.
What sets us apart?
We may well be New Zealand's (certainly the capitals) smallest beer bar, with 15 seats, on a good day. We tend to highlight regional producers of high quality on tap, and have a small but ever changing selection of cans in our pick and mix 6 pack fridge. All our products are cold stored as soon as they arrive as standard and served as fresh as the brewer intended.
Most Famous Style?
We take pride in ordering directly from source so that kegs arrive to us as fresh as possible, particularly with hop forward styles. Likely you'll find something interesting from Mcleods, Brave Tiger Milk IPA, Liberty Halo Pilsner et al, alongside other great beer from the regions that you don't often see on Wellingtons other free taps.
