How we started

Like many breweries we started in our garage at home in Otatara, Invercargill. We started at 4 mates, where Scott (owner and operator) brewed the beer and 3 mates did the quality control of the products he created. We started on a small 30 litres system and now operate out of a commercial building in Invercargill on a new 600 litre brewhouse we have purchased. We now also operate The Taproom Eatery & Craft Bar where you can try our own beers as well as other great craft beers from around the country.

What sets us apart

We are setting the standard from craft beer in Southland and have started to build a great following. We want to create craft beers that
are famous to 4 Mates and put Southland on the map as a craft beer destination.

Most Famous Style

Our most famous beer is the Elusive Moose Hazy IPA, named after the very elusive moose hiding away in the fiordland national park in
Te Anau. Elusive Moose is a smooth and easy to drink Hazy IPA with lots of citrus notes and slight bitterness.
