Parrotdog Brewery

How we started
Parrotdog was conceived in 2011 out of a love for good beer by three guys called Matt. From their new brewery in Lyall Bay, Wellington, they're continuing to do what they started back then: making approachable, award-winning beer. Quality and simplicity form the basis for their mantra in keeping things uncomplicated. Their range is a diverse cast of characters, with something to suit every one of you, and everyone of us. Nice.

Heading to Wellington? Drop in to Parrotdog Bar, a stone's throw from the airport, where you can experience fifteen taps showcasing Parrotdog's diverse range of beers straight from the brewery, visible through the main windows. Paired with their sandwich, salad and platter menu, Parrotdog have made sure any visitor can walk out the door feeling satisfied.

What sets us apart
Parrotdog's unique point-of-difference as an independent brewery is their ability to produce everything under one roof. Their new production facility in Lyall Bay provides them with the control to brew, package and distribute all of their product from one site - emphasising their mission for high quality and simplicity.

Most famous style
Bitterbitch, the most famous of our pale ales, was our troublesome original release, named for the problematic first brew day which hugely emphasised its hop bitterness. It's matured and evolved nicely over the years, with us. Big tropical hop flavour from local varieties with strong bitterness from an English hop to honour its origins, all balanced by plenty of malt.
