How we started

McLeod's Brewery was founded in 2014 by brothers Geoff and Clayton Gwynne, owners of Waipu's iconic Pizza Barn. In 2016, Jason

Bathgate joined as Head Brewer, brining with him a background working for two former championship NZ breweries.

What sets us apart

McLeod's has won Championship Intl. Brewery (2020) at the Australian Intl. Beer Awards and, most recently, Championship Medium Brewery (2021) at the Brewers Guild NZ Awards. Our beers pour on-site at our front-of-house, McLeod's Pizza Barn, & are served alongside delicious, generous pub fare.

Most Famous Style

McLeod's Brewery has become known for award-winning beer. Two of our flagship brews, Longboarder Lager and Paradise Pale Ale,

are two of our most well-known and both exemplary for the style.
