How we started
Brewing craft beer on a working sheep and beef farm may seem like an unusual mix but there’s no denying Lakeman Brewing is producing something special. Based on the shores of Lake Taupo, Lakeman craft beer is brewed from pristine bore water sourced directly below the farm. Ask any brewer what makes a great beer and they’ll inevitably tell you it starts with pure water. 

The team at Lakeman Brewing are dedicated to three things above all else: the environment, their community and having a good time. So it was inevitable they’d open a craft beer bar in their home town of Taupo overlooking the lake. 
 

What sets us apart
Jimmy Coops, Lakeman Brewing’s new craft beer and burger bar, has everything you need for a lazy summer session. It’s the only place in the country where craft beer lovers can enjoy a tasting paddle of a wide range of on-tap Lakeman beers, including limited-season brews. 

Pick from the eight Lakeman Brewing beers on tap, plus more in the chiller. A big juicy smashed burger or share plate is the ideal accompaniment. Jimmy Coops has a large outdoor area overlooking Lake Taupo with each table featuring menu QR codes to make ordering safe and easy.

Most famous style
If you’re a craft beer enthusiast go straight for the Five O'clock Somewhere Hazy IPA, a gorgeous cloudy burst of sweet citrus. For the first timers, crack open the Taupo Thunder NZ Pale Ale, with its fresh burst of passionfruit, or a Big Hairy with its mild malt sweetness beneath a citrus hit.
