OUR STORY
"The Brothers Beer story started with two mates, chatting over a beer. Since 2012 we’ve produced balanced, full-flavoured beers using the finest New Zealand grain and hops. Starting off in a tiny brewery at City Works Depot, which we quickly outgrew, our Brewery is now located in the leafy suburbs of Akiraho Street, Mt Eden. Here we also have our taproom and Juke Joint BBQ, where you can enjoy smoked meats and our range of core and seasonals beers on tap and directly from the tanks.
Now more than a decade later, Brothers Beer continues to offer an inclusive space for the community, welcoming kids, dogs - the whole family! In honouring the Brothers Beer founders and the last decade, the team continue its ethos, 'Good Beer for Good People.'"
What sets us apart?
Our taproom is child and dog friendly, so bring along the whole family to enjoy the indoor and outdoor spaces and relaxed vibes. Enjoy the full selection of our core range of craft beers, unique seasonal releases and our brother brand Strange Brothers Cider. We offer tasting paddles, brewery tours, brew days and an awesome venue for hosting special events.
Most Famous Style?
So many to choose from! Some stand outs would be Notorious IPA, Hazesteria Hazy Pale Ale, or Houble Dazy; the biggest, juiciest, haziest beer we produce. We're pretty proud of our Akiraho St Lab sessions as well, which pay homage to the roots of Brothers Beer, limited runs of experimental session beers, exclusively available at our taproom.
